Monochrome Watercolour Workshop – Sun 17th March, 2024

The Workshop:
Maxine will present a variety of subjects to explore, using a VALUE SCALE (from white paper to darkest colour) …skip the difficulties of colour mixing!  All you have to do is alter the proportions of water and paint to show light, shade and form.  These exercises will teach you the importance of VALUES.  You will also practice and review watercolour techniques of wet into wet, drybrush and glazing… and the importance of leaving the white of the paper!

The Teacher:
Maxine Wade is an award-winning professional artist and teacher, with 30 years in secondary schools and 20 years teaching watercolour and life drawing to adult classes.  Currently teaching at Malvern Artists Society, Gen Eira Cheltenham Art Group and McClelland Guild of Artists.  She is a member of these societies, plus the Victorian Arist’s Society, where she exhibits her work.  For 40 years a member of the Watercolour Society of Victoria.  In 2021, she wrote and published a successful watercolour instruction book called “Watercolour Warfare”.
